Formerly known as a Periodic Inspection Report (PIR) the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) provides a full report on the safety of your electrical installations, fixtures and fittings.
In your home, rented property or business it can be hard to see electricity cables that are inside your walls or in cupboards which can be damaged or show signs of wear and tear. One of the main reasons for electrical fires is due to faulty, poor or old wiring.
If your cables are coated in black rubber, lead or fabric these can date back before the 1960’s.
You should have your electricity checked at the very least every 10 years or when you move or purchase a new property.
In many cases smouldering can be happening behind sockets and switches and without regular checks can be deadly.
Your Safe Cert engineer will provide the following via your report:
Assess and document the results of your inspection to make sure your electrical installation is safe to be used
Locate any wiring that could cause an electric shock or deliver high temperatures
Locate any damage or wear and tear that can cause safety issues, and report it
Give you a full recorded report of the installation and any information to be aware of for any future testing
Locate any electrical installation that does not meet the IET Wiring Regulations
*At times we may use trusted partners to carry out assessments that meet our impeccable high standards of safety and customer service.
